US Supply Ship USNS Laramie Supports Operation Atalanta off the Coast of Somalia
December 17, 2015 - 09:12On Sunday 13th December 2015, Operation Atalanta’s flagship, ITS Carabiniere, conducted a replenishment at sea (RAS) with United States Supply ship, USNS Laramie.
After two hours of careful and complex co-ordination, ITS Carabiniere successfully refueled and replenished her naval stores.
Conducting a RAS at sea enables Operation Atalanta warships to maintain their counter-piracy patrols off the coast of Somalia with minimum disruption.
After refueling with USNS Laramie, ITS Carabiniere resumed her counter-piracy patrols in the Gulf of Aden.
